    Flossing with Braces

    Hi all!

I am post-braces now, it's been a few years. I have to say that it was 2.5 years for torture!
Actually I came across this site because I am doing research for a company that makes a new kind of floss, part of that research includes flossing with braces. It does work very well for people who wear braces because it just slides from behind the teeth. I know how difficult it is to floss with braces, which is why I didn't do it to often...
I am interested to have some opinions, and can provide some free samples. have a look at the site and write to me to discuss further. BrytonPick: Dental floss alternative, flossing with braces, one handed flossing, dental floss, dentist recommended floss, floss in seconds
Thank you, feel free to contact me with your questions and comments.

    Unhappy

Shame that people don't realise the need for flossing and how easy it can become with practise.

It's sad that many people waste their money and the money of their parent's getting their bite sorted, to develop gum disease due to not flossing.

So true, the person in the video never followed directions when he had braces and his teeth are perfect. I guess it is just luck...

How long may luck like that last? Months, weeks or years? The one thing we can be certain of, if a person doesn't look after their gums, eventually gum disease will attack. Only so much bacteria can live under our gums, before eventually it 'breaks' out.

No not luck ... stupidity maybe or hopefully a lesson he'll learn before his gums and bone are irreversibly damaged.

    Flossing with Waterpik

Hey Mc1 1st of... congrats on your post-treatment! i looked up the website and it's kind of similar with Waterpik Power Flosser @ Power Flosser >> Oral Health | Waterpik® My first few days of flossing with braces was time consuming and not to mention painful because my teeth/gums were sensitive. With Waterpik it's much easier for ppl with braces, it's also very effective and painless! Hope that helps =]
    i'VE HAD BRACES FOR:

    2 YEARS, 2 WEEKS & 2 DAYS

Silvermist a waterpik is great for removing gunk from around your teeth and brackets, but it doesn't do the job flossing does, no matter what the advertising might claim.

Flossing is about removing the bacteria that accumulate just under the gum, and against the root of your teeth. If you were to aim a waterpik at this area, you would damage your gums and still not get the bacteria away. It has to be removed carefully and so far manual flossing is the only way found to do this job.

Flossing can be slow and annoying and sometimes even painful, but with practise it gets faster, easier and free from pain. Not everyone who doesn't floss will loose their teeth from gum disease ... but are you prepared to risk your smile? Especially when you consider how easy and fast flossing becomes with practise.

Tara ... good for you for continuing. Hopefully before long you'll find how easy flossing will get.

Mariah ... 14 is very young, I didn't get gum disease till I was in my 30's ... and the damage is permanent! I wish someone had told me about flossing when I was your age!
