That's amazing Angel. I've never heard of a case like your hubbies, as it should be obvious to the dentist, that the enamel has changed. I hope your hubby has changed dentist's, as you'd have to question the person's skill and x-ray equipment, for something like that to be mixed.
Occasionally when a person has toothache and a cavity can't be found easily, a dentist will request that more indepth x-rays to be done. Hair line fractures are difficult to detect, but don't often become cavities.
I believe it's important to 'shop' round for a dentist you trust and can communicate well with. Plus never be afraid to seek further advice from another professional, if you're not confident with what you're being told.
