There is no method of taking them off yourself...don't even try!!
Call up your old ortho, or a new one and explain that you want the brackets removed. Is the treatment over? Are there still issues that need correction?
Over 4 years ago now I got braces as part of an ongoing orthodontist treatment, but then I started university and moved away from near the old orthodontist.
I hated going to the dentist and used it as an excuse to not have to go back, but now, years on, I am still wearing the same old brace i got from back then. The wire came off a while back so it is just the clips at the back of my mouth and the hooks on each tooth.
Obviously it's unsightly and really knocks my self-confidence and so i rarely smile, what i wondered was if it's possible to goto any orthodontist to get them removed, or any methods to take it off without going back to an orthodontist?

The only way you can safely get those braces off your teeth is to see an orthodontice to have them removed. Please, whatever you do DO NOT try to take them off yourself. It will kill your teeth if you don't do it the right way. Just go in and talk to any orthodontist about having them removed. You will defintly find a willing orthodontist out there. Good luck.
Please don't do it yourself you don't want to hurt your teeth!!
I do recommend going to an orthodontist to get them removed. But I had a friend who removed them herself, her teeth were fine, but don't take chances.
Would you attempt to do your own filling if you had a cavity? Sure, it was funny when Mr. Bean did it, but I doubt you'd try it yourself, because you'd be worried something might go badly wrong. Same goes for removing braces.
