    Good news!

    Hi everyone~

Just had a checkup today and was told my teeth look great and we will start correcting my overjet problem now. My ortho originally gave me 18-24 months of treatment time and we all know it varies depending on many factors so when I asked if they thought I'd be finished by this September(24 mos mark) and they said it looks good, I was more than thrilled! They said the straightening of the teeth looks good and now we just need to work on my overjet. Anyone know the "approximate" time it can take for that? I know it will vary but any idea would be helpful. Mine's not horrendous, but pretty bad considering my molars do not touch and my top teeth jet over the bottom ones so that you can see about 1/4" of them or so.

Also, does anyone else have little black dots or lines on any of their teeth? I've brought it up to my regular dentist and he says it's just staining and not cavities. I seem to have fairly deep indentations in my molars and that's where the black lines are.

    Thanks!

    Great news Jessi!

I have no idea how long it will take your overjet to be corrected ... it could be three months or over a year ... so many variables. Your ortho probably can predict a timeframe ... but of course even that can't be certain. Hopefully it will go quickly like your progress thus far.

I'm not aware of any black dots or lines on my teeth, although I do have indents and some minor marking on the enamel of my lower front teeth, which have never caused any problems.

    Take care!
