    Angry Molar dumping forward

    Hi,

I've been having my braces for almost 3 years now. Almost all my teeth move pretty quickly, except for this one molar on bottom left. For the past half of year, we've been struggling with this molar. Doesn't matter what we do, it doesn't move forward, instead, it dumps forward. There is a wire on this molar so it's supposed to counteract the force to dumping, but it's not working.

I'm quite frustrated with my orthodontist. Every time when I'm back to the office, she takes the tension cuz she doesn't like it dumping, then the molar moves back to its original position, a few weeks later, she will try a different method, it dumps again. I've been that cycle for the past 6 months now. My orthodontist neither has a good plan on what to do, nor explaining thing clearly.

Could someone tell me what can be done in this case? Please help!!

This is a tough one. I commend your ortho for trying... However I understand you are mad for not getting results. Sometimes the teeth can not be moved to 100% perfect, however that doesn't mean you should settle on leaving that molar.

Let's see what others have to say...

Sounds like this is aggravating for both you and your ortho - as I am understanding it, the roots of this one tooth just don't want to move, so it just tips over into the gap instead Wish I had some answers for you, but your ortho, I am sure, knows way more about this than I
I am not a dental professional.

As it says on the main Bracesreview.com page, always consult a qualified orthodontist, dentist, or medical professional with questions you may have.
