    Lightbulb A thread for Sunny!!

I had originally posted this in another thread, but wanted to give you your own thread for this. You are such an amazing, strong woman and I know you've helped so many people on this site and others and I thought it'd be nice to honor you by giving you a thread where we can let you know how we feel about you, as well as express our condolenses to you. I know you never asked for this kind of attention, so I hope it is okay that we give it??

    Love to you!!

Oh, honey! I knew it was coming and each time I went to check your blog, I feared the worst, and then saw you hadn't posted in a while... I am so so sorry! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you???

And to the OP, please forgive me for hijacking this thread, but as I'm sure you've seen, Sunny has been invaluable on this site (and others) and such an encourager, that I want to make sure we're able to do the same for her.

We love you, Sunny...and I am praying for you..with all of my heart, as I have been ever since I first learned of your hubby's illness.

    Thank you newsboysgrl and Angela.

The past 12 months is a period of life I hope no one else has to experience, but it did allow my hubby and I to become even closer ... and we shared stuff that you really don't want to, but it was so necessary and looking back now, I realise how priviledged I was to be loved by someone so wonderful. A close friend told me, that for a relationship to survive the trauma and grief of the past 12 months, you need to be friends, not just lovers ... and she's so right. We had to be able to communicate ... really communicate ... and at times that was tough, but we were able to hold hands and talk until my darling man took his last breath on 28 February ... just 1 1/2 hours after our two kids flew in from interstate.

My hubby had eosophageal cancer, which is one of the nasty ones. We were told he had 3-6 months to live, and like most things in life, my hubby saw this as a challenge ... and beat it he did. He made it to nearly 12 months, although his final three months weren't so great, but he still made the most of each moment ... and left this world a better place for his being in it ... and many wonderful memories for his family and friends.

I know the days/weeks/months ahead will be tough ... but I have wonderful support from my children and friends ... and I know my hubby is here ... he's supporting us ... as he's always done!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

Sunny, I'm new to this board but wanted to extend my condolences and thank you for all of your help. Your patience and kindness is greatly appreciated.

I'm thankful your husband was able to hang on longer and see his children a final time. He sounds like a remarkable man and I'm glad the last year brought you closer.

    Dear Sunny~

I was aware that your husband was ill but I didn't know what type of illness he had and that he had passed until now. My grandmother died of cancer some years back and it is truly something no one should have to experience whether it's the person or their family. It is so hard to watch them deteriorate from the person they were before this horrible illness. My heart goes out to you and your family; I have tears in my eyes just thinking about this and wish you all the best. You are a wonderful support and encouragement to all of us within this braces community and we look forward to helping you through this tremendously difficult time. Thank you again for all of your support and suggestions!

    Love,
    Jessi

Sunny, you are such a valuable contribution to this forum. I think I speak on everyone's behalf when I say that we all would be a little lost here without all of your amazing help! We are all here for you.

Sunny - my deepest condolences. I missed you while you were away from the boards and feared the worst. I was so inspired when I read about how you spent your last months together. You are truly amazing.
