Do the white spots look kind of dry/chalky and not translucent like the rest of the tooth? I've read on one whitening product's web site that chalky white spots can appear after treatment but that this usually goes back to normal after some period of time - anything from hours to weeks.

When I've whitened, I've sometimes had those spots, too. The kind Zoso mentions...white, chalky. And they DO disappear, but not necessarily quickly. Also, are you already in braces, or no? If you are, please don't use the whitening as I've heard it can cause all kinds of issues down the road.

I don't believe that jenn is in braces yet. But it's a good warning - we should not whiten while we are in braces. That said, "whitening" toothpastes and rinses seem to be OK, since they do not really do anything more than remove the superficial stains at the very surface of the teeth. But anything like Whitestrips, or whitening gel and tray systems should be avoided.

That's a good outcome with the spots Jenn!

    Have a great appointment tomorrow!
