I do appreciate that with two kids needing braces, and in the current economy at that, you need to watch the costs. But please don't make price your first consideration. You really need to find an orthodontist who is great at what he does, who can communicate really well with you and with your kids, and whose treatment plans for your kids make good sense to you.
There are lots of options to pay for orthodontis treatment, and most orthodontists, at least in the USA, will offer payment plans to help make that possible.
Also, consultations are often free of charge, so do look around and visit two or three docs before you settle on one.
Ask around your friends, your (or your spouse's) colleagues, your kids' friends'/schoolmates' parents, your relatives, etc. too, to see if any of them can recommend a great orthodontist to you.
