Swollen gums!

Hi,

I just had braces put on yesterday. I notice at the end of yesterday and today, some gum swelling. The ortho assistant told me to expect teeth tenderness but what about the gum swelling?

Hi cherylyn i have had my invisalign on for a week an i also have a tiny bit of swelling but nothing to serious i think its just from where the brace is touching the gums a little, if you are getting worried i dont think your ortho would mind giving them a call to ask just to be on the safe side!!! have you started a blog yet?? they are a great way to see how everyone is doing and also to keep an eye on yourself!!!! take a look at mine if you like!!!

Definitely give your ortho a call ... just to check.

Warm salt water rinses also can help soothe the gums if they're sore. You only need to put a pinch of salt in some warm water and gargle two or three times. It's recommended to do this 5+ times a day, if your mouth is sore.
