Crozat Expander

I wasn't sure what type of expander I was wearing and I did a little research on the different types of expanders that are available...and so...I believe I am wearing a Crozat Expander....but everytime I read about this..it says that this is made/designed for the bottom jaw...however...i'm wearing this on my upper jaw...this may NOT be the Crozat Expander...but i wanna make sure if this is normal...to be wearing an expander like this on the upper jaw...Can anyone verify?

I haven't heard about Crozat expanders in a while... I saw someone on here that was wearing one and was told that they take it off and adjust it everytime you go in .. is that so?

I thought these were originally put on teens in which the ortho did not trust to make the turns on the traditional expanders.. but as far as I know they were for upper jaw...
