One loose brcket

My daughter has her braces since June 2009. Yesterday, she noticed one of the brackets on her front tooth came loose. Her next appointment is a month away. Can she wait till then to have the loose bracket cemented? Wire is still tight, it is just the bracket movingslightly sideways. Is it common to have bracelet come out loose after a while (she had it 4 months ago) ?

Please give your daughters ortho a call and ask about the bracket. Where I work, the ortho's fix brackets that have come off at the next appointment and only require patients preparing for surgery (very close to their surgery date) to come in to have the bracket replaced. But ... different ortho's have different ways of dealing with this, so it's best to make contact and follow the rules of your ortho.

It's not common for brackets to come off after four months, but it can happen for many reasons.

I had one come loose about 2 months after it was put on, and I ignored it...but then it popped completely off and I had to make an "emergency" appointment to have it rebonded. The whole appointment took 10 minutes, they just reglued it. Your ortho office will certainly know best
