    Arrow Molar Very painful

ive had my braces since sometime last year , i cant quite remember, but i can't chew hard or chew for a very long time on the back right side of my mouth cause of my molars, after a while the one side is very painful and irritating

i was thinking it was a cavity maybe? but i dont know.

at the moment it is very annoying because i just got that stretchy rubberband put on 4 of my teeth to the left side of the front and it hurts so i cant even chew on anything right now.

    Hi

You should be able to chew, although if a tooth/teeth is doing quite a lot of moving, it may cause the person to feel some discomfort which may cause you problems chewing.

I recommend you talk to your ortho about this and at your next dentist appointment, if it's still an issue, ask your dentist to tell you about how those teeth are coping with orthodontic treatment.

Also make sure your oral hygiene around those molars is extra good ... flossing, interdental brushing, brushing, fluoride rinsing etc!

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I had a similar problem after an adjustment I had in August. I was in so much pain in one single tooth, that at first when I called my ortho they suspected a cavity as well. I went in right away, and after inspecting it, found that my teeth had moved to a point where my top teeth were hitting the bracket on that tooth, and that was causing the severe pain (added stress on that one tooth). They added "bumpers" and the pain went away within a week. So it very well could be braces related, and not a cavity, but definitely go in to your Ortho right away. You're paying them to take care of your teeth, and if you have a concern they should take a few minutes to make necessary adjustments so you aren't in so much pain.

    Good luck!!
