    Now have fixed braces but...

On Monday (6 days ago) my bite plate removeable thing was taken off, and i had fixed braces put in. Its generally okay now.

But the brace i now have has made my bite go from good to less good and its starting to look like im having an underbite again (like i was befor ethe bite plate was put in!).... so i donty have the bite plate retainer anymore, but because i have had it off for a week and have braces now, looks like it is undoing all the work again, and the 4 months i wore the bite plate was usless because you can hardly see my bottom teeth again (i think i again have an underbite).

    whats happened> Is this common?

Salv give your ortho a call and tell him about your concerns. Your ortho is the person who'll know what is expected to happen with your bite.

I started with an edge to edge bite, but as my teeth were aligned, my bite became a definite class III. This was due to my lowers being crowded and my uppers having gaps.

Good luck talking to your ortho!

Do you mean overbite Salv? You said you could hardly see your bottom teeth so I was wondering? My bite went from not so good to terrible in the initial stages. My uppers were so crowded and as they were aligned, they had no where to go but out....this looked awful and I spent about 5 weeks feeling terrible. Then they started me on rubber bands and they are little bands of miracles! My bite improved noticably in 5 weeks, and now several months later, my bite is becoming more and more like it should be!
There are lots of seems where it seems to get worse before it gets better, but it is all worth it in the end, just hang in there!!!

Yep thats what I meant. Overbite

And is it true about the whole "it gets woprse before it gets better" quote?
What could i do to fix it? would they give me elastics or something??

What a waste my 4 months of wearing the retainer was!!!

It's totally true ... and sometimes happens several times during your treatment.

You don't need to do anything ... your ortho will do it and will tell you what's needed next. Make sure you tell him about your concerns.

With an overbite it's quite possible that you'll need elastics. They're amazing and achieve wonderful results, so if you do need them, you've got even more to look forward to!

I doubt the bite plate was a waste ... but ask your ortho! Good luck!
