    Unhappy Bite doesnt fully close???

    Hey guys
About a week ago one of the side that have the cement on the molar fell off. As you know this is used so my top teeth don’t hit my bottom brackets. Well anyways my next appt was only a week later so I just waited, I also knew that I was getting the cement taken off at my next appt. So I went in and the ortho said yes, the other side with the cement can be removed. So the ortho told the tech to take off the cement. Well he used a drill and some pliers, It was kind of scary felt like he was breaking my teeth. But anyways now it feels like my bite is uneven. The side the tech took off the cement feels like it doesn’t close at the same time or even fully close..do you think the tech probably took off part of my molar?! When I look in the mirror it doesn’t look uneven. I can just feel that it doesn’t close on both side....
    anybody have any ideas???

Nate I doubt the tech damaged your molar, as it would be causing you pain and sensitivity if that happened ... plus it would have been very painful at the time.

The way your bite is, is possibly due to how your teeth are moving and is now part of the 'it gets worse before it gets better' stage of your treatment.

If this is concerning you, please give your ortho a call and check with him! Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

During orthodontic treatment it is sometimes difficult to find a "stable bite" because the teeth are constantly shifting. It is possible that the brackets on one side are at a different level than another. However, as it felt awkward when you first had the bonding on the molar, it is also going to feel different when it is removed. Give yourself some time to get used to it and speak to your orthodontist if you have any concerns.

    Bite

    Nate,
You are concerned legitimately but as has been mentioned by Dr. Tam and others, things should be just fine. With ortho, there are all types of adjustments that you will need to "adjust" to for a while as teeth shift. visit with your ortho if your concerns persist.
