Iv just turned 17 and had my braces for nearly 2 years, i didnt really want them at the time but thought i would regret not having them later in life, as they are free on the NHS here in england if you are under 18. I had to have 4 teeth extracted, although i didnt really think i needed it, my teeth wernt very bad at all and people with much much worse teeth only had 4 teeth out too, anyway now i feel like my jaw has been pushed back too much, my mouth area is now flat where as before my lips kind of pouted and i had a cute little hollow in my chin. I dont feel like myself really, i also now seem to have a overbite, my top front teeth cover most of my bottom front teeth and i can fit a nail through the gap, i didnt have this before.
Does anyone have any ideas to fix these problems? i really dont want to go back into braces, i dont think they would let me unless i payed anyways, i would appreciate your help. x
Rosex you need to make an appointment to meet with your orthodontist again and ask about the issues you're raised on here.
Also talk to your dentist to check if this person considers the issues are a concern for the future of your gums and bite.

After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
I wonder why they just didn't extract the 2 on the bottom and left the 2 on the top. That could have lessen the gap between your top and bottom but that's only my opinion.
