    Underbite now

Hi everyone. Been in braces about 6 weeks now, getting tightened on Monday. Last week, I realized I have an underbite! On of my front top tooth is behind the bottom tooth. Most uncomfortable thing ever! Is this something expected?
ANother question...will I still have some tenderness of sensitivity popping up out of no where areound this time? Really, are my teeth still being moved after 6 weeks?
I dunno if I am stating this questions accurately, but if you understand what I am asking, I greatly appreciate any reply
    Thank You!

yep, A LOT of the times, things get slightly worse in the beginning. Very common and just trust in your ortho.

Do you have a pretty good ortho in Miami? If so recommend him/her in the "TOP ORTHO" forum once you get a feeling for the office and doctor...

My orthodontist and dentist are actually in Boca. I am from Coral Springs, living in Miami now for school. I will put the office there after more visits. Monday will be my 1st tightening. I look at other pictures sand some people see results by the 1st tightening. I wonder if I will be able to see any...hmm...makes me wanna go tighten, but I am still scaring the pain!! hehe

Rebel the archwire will continue to move your teeth until they're in the same shape as the archwire was before it was put in your mouth ... this is why adjustments don't need to be close together when you have archwires leading the way!

You don't have an underbite ... that's a term for a bite that needs to be treated and it would have been diagnosised before your treatment was started. You may have a wayward tooth, that will need a little attention, but this is the reason why we return to see our ortho's for checkups.

    Good luck with your adjustment!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
