Hey there jos,
i think your situation is very similar to mine. I also have a gap between my front teeth at the top only.. my bottom are perfect (atleast i think they are) my bite is just fine, no need for adjustment.. all i needed was to fix the gaps. But i also got both bottom and top braces, i was told its because my top teeth will be shifting, so theres a small chance my bite wont be as good as it used to be if i dont get braces at the bottom. so the bottom braces are to ensure that your bite remains as good as they are now. ( you wouldn't want to finish braces only to find out your bite went wrong and you need another treatment). About the pressure, well all i can tell you is that it will wear off sometime soon.. i got my braces on the second, the pressure and discomfort only left me at peace a few days ago. Thursday wasn't that long ago, so just give it some time. Remember it will all be worth it when you see the final result! (it kinda helps to visualise it)
Well, i personally only got braces less than 2 weeks ago, so i cant tell you. But it mostly depends on how big your gaps are. I think some would say near 1 to 2 months, if the gaps arent really that big!
Well good luck with you treatment!
