    Ibuprofen and orthodontic movement

So I've heard that ibuprofen can inhibit orthodontic movement. I've read some studies online, however nothing really too prudent. I was diagnosed with calcific tendinitis, and my doc wants me to take 600mg twice a day for at least two weeks. For you medical professionals, (or anyone else who may know), do you think this will greatly inhibit my teeth moving? I'm almost exactly half way through my treatment now. 9 months down, and maybe about another 8 to go.

The principle behind this is that orthodontic tooth movement involves an inflammatory process to remove bone where the tooth is supposed to move. While Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) are both analgesics, Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and can therefore theoretically slow down the movement of teeth. Keep in mind that most studies have been in animal models.

I'm sorry I don't have any information on how much it can slow movement .
