Red face Will my eating habits cause problems

    Hey all,
I have been worried about my current eating habits.
Since i have exams, and during these days i go crazy, little sleep. My worries are that in this month that i have to stay up more and sleep less i drink coffee on daily basis, sometimes i dont have the time to brush right afterwards. Also, i dont have time to cook, i usually go to the city to get my meals, but that takes too long and im not willing to waste that much time to go that far. So my meals consists of yoghurt and crisps, kellogs bars and some sweet corn sometimes.
my main worry is the coffee, i usually dont drink coffee (atleast not this much) i dont want to be very dependant on it on my normal days. but this month i do have more than usual, so what are your thoughts, you think this much coffee can stain my teeth? im going to stop in a few days. but i may go back to the habit as soon as my next exams start in june. Im thinking about changing to red bull but i hate it so much.. your thoughts?

coffee is def bad for your teeth... It is most noticable on the back of your upper teeth and I'm sure you dentist will let you know about it.

Your best bet is to go to your dentist every 6 months and get your self a sonicare toothbrush.

With the Sonicare, you can keep your teeth in pretty good shape. I am very impressed with that toothbrush. Combined with regular cleanings to help remove excess plaque... you coffee drinkers shouldn't be soo worried...

yes i would reccomend the sonicare aswell i love mine!!!
and i would most likely say red bull is just as bad if not worse because of all the sugar in it and i dont think it would do your health that much good drinking so much of it!!
    hope all goes well x

All the best with your exams!

Please don't be concerned about how this eating/drinking habit will affect your braces ... although make sure you keep your intake balanced so that you can be at your best while studying,

While your exams are on, brush with a toothpaste like sensodyne whitening or colgate with baking soda and peroxide. Whitening toothpastes do not whiten teeth ... there's no way that's possible, as it would break the multi billion dollar 'tooth whitening' industry. What they can do, is reduce/remove the latest staining on your teeth, so it should help to remove some, most or all of the staining the coffee causes. Follow this with an appointment with your dentist/hygienist to have your teeth cleaned ... and hopefully there'll be no signs of this ever having happened.

Remember that you only need to brush a couple of times a day ... just make sure you brush well ... with a soft, small headed toothbrush and take care of your gums. It's important to brush gently so that you don't damage the enamel or gum tissue ... so don't try to brush staining away, as you could do some major damage. If you don't have an electric toothbrush, you may like to consider getting one ... if you do, make sure it has small brush heads, like the oral b do.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I have the Oral B Pulsonic Rechargeable toothbrush. It's small like the Sonicare, and doesn't have disposable batteries which is what I love. I can get about 7 days, brushing 3 times a day for 2 minutes each (it has a timer built in), before the battery completely dies. Best of all it's only $70.
