it made my smile even worse.
    Dunno what to do!

I'm really sick of my praces
Is there anything that could help to get them off sooner?

Hi and welcome to this forum!

I don't have the same problem but some of the patients I work with have. Sometimes this excess gum is caused due to the way the teeth are moving and it does shrink back over time. Massaging the gum very gently may help. Sometimes this excess gum may be due to the gum area becoming swollen due to infection. This needs to be checked as it's important to look after this very delicate area.

The best way to make your treatment go as fast as is possible, is to do exactly what your ortho tells you ... no more and no less! Make sure you keep all appointments and keep your oral hygiene A1.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

There are all kinds of strange things that will happen to your mouth while you go through your treatment. I say always ask your orthodontist lots of questions so that you understand what is happening with your mouth. Best of luck to you!

Make sure you're well hydrated and using a moist finger, gently rub the swollen area of your gum. You can move your finger around in gentle circles or up and down, side to side etc.
