    First day with the Brackets

Hey guys, I just had my ceramic braces put on today but no wires yet and i have a few questions about both the braces and the extractions.
    1. Will my ceramic braces stain? (not the o-rings)
    2. Will the extractions hurt alot (4 1st Bicuspids)
    3. I don't have a bracket on my 3rd lower incisor

    Ceramic brackets do not stain.

Hopefully they won't hurt much at all. When I had my wisdom teeth removed, they didn't hurt, but the needles to numb the area ached a little for an hour or two. Make sure you follow all instructions to care for your mouth, post extractions, carefully.
    3. I don't have a bracket on my 3rd lower incisor
Which tooth do you mean? Do you mean one of your central or lateral incisors? If so, is it rotated? I didn't have a bracket on one of my lower front teeth for the first few weeks, due to a rotated teeth that didn't have enough exposed room for the bracket. When it started to rotate it was bracketed and slowly dragged to the archwire.

Good luck with getting your archwires and your treatment started!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I have ceramic brackets, they have never stained.

Honestly everyone has a different experience with tooth extractions. You will most likely have some kind of pain/ache, but how severe it is really is just depending on how your body reacts to it. I had an oral surgeon do mine, so even though I was drugged up for a day, I had absolutely ZERO pain. Just be very, very mindful to do exactly as the dentist says for caring for your mouth in the days following the extractions!!

I didn't have brackets on a couple of my teeth too in the beginning because they were so crooked. Once they straightened out a bit they put the brackets on. You can see pics if you go to my blog.

Welcome to the board, and welcome to a journey that's going to take you to a great smile!

My ortho told me that the tooth that doesn't have a bracket was too in between the other teeth, in other words there wasn't enough space to place the bracket, although it would have fit but the risk was the glue being stuck between the teeth and make it harder to floss there so they skipped it.
