Hi and welcome to this forum. My advice is ... if you trust this person to treat you in the best way possible, then go with his advice. But, if you have any concerns, a second opinion is always worth getting.

Hi i am about the get braces and my ortho said i should get my canine tooth removed since i'm already missing one. He said it would make no difference except that at the end, the teeth will look symmetrical. it said its completely up to me. What do you guys think i should do? If i dont remove it, will the final outcome look wierd?

After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
I had a canine removed and still have my other one and it doesn't look bad, but my orthodontist did tell me that I'd have to have my teeth shaved and shaped a little once the braces come off, for symmetry. Since Latias is nearing completion of treatment, I'd trust that advice tho too!
I had one of my canines removed (maybe by accident?) To compensate for this, I had a crown placed on the tooth next to my missing canine sort of shaped like a canine. I had a root canal on that tooth so I guess it worked out. I am no ortho or dentist but I thought your canines help you tear into food (i.e meat and stuff)...so if I had a choice, I would opt out in removing them.
