    archwire

    what is the difference between round and rectangular archwires... and y would a orthodonist choose one over the other... my orthodontist seems to only have one shape ( i believe its round) im just curious....

    Round or rectangular refers to the wire in cross section. The quick answer is that the different shapes can be instrumental in creating certain movements and restricting others.
