    Underbite during treatment

I'm a tad worried. I have an ortho appointment next Saturday, so I will definitely be addressing these concerns with my orthodontist but I wanted to see what you guys think in the mean time.

I had an overbite before treatment, and now when I look at my teeth, I have sort of an underbite! When I bite down, one of my front two teeth matches exactly with the bottom one. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, after having worn my elastics, that upper tooth will be completely behind the bottom one. My other teeth are fine...

Is this normal--- to have an underbite during treatment?

well I know that your teeth will move around quite a bit during your treatment. Alignment of your teeth and adjustment of your jaw goes in phases. My teeth have gone from this side to that side and over and back it seems, but it's progressively getting to the point now where everything is coming together the way it should. Definitely address it with your orthodontist though. My sister noticed her crossbite was coming back and mentioned it to our orthodontist, and it turns out it was a result of her palate collapsing (yeah it's a bad deal...).

My assumption is that you are wearing class 2 elastics. It is possible to have "overcorrection" of the overjet (commonly referred incorrectly as overbite). The easy way to fix this is to go to a shorter routine of elastic wear. Speak to your orthodontist about this if you are concerned and good luck!
