I've had braces for 5 months now and before my treatment started I was told by my ortho that I had an overbite. Now 5 months later, it seems like my overbite is gone. At my last adjustment my ortho looked at my teeth and said that I didn't need any rubber bands. My top teeth were never that crowded, but my lower teeth were. I wonder if all I needed was to straighten out my lower teeth to fix my overbite. Could this be possible?
My other question is how does a bite get aligned? Pre-braces I had Class I bites on both sides, but now I feel that my bite is off a little. When will this be fixed and how does this get fixed? Does it get fixed with rubberbands?
Yes, it is possible if it's just the teeth that are out of alignment and it's not a skeletal deformity.
Apart from braces, it can also take surgery to correct a bite in extreme circumstances.
If it's dental, then it definitely can!
It's great it's been so easy for you! Here's to your treatment continuing to go so well!![]()
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
Wow, this is great news! Thanks for the replies.
