help with spacers

I just got spacers yesterday and I am not sure if this is a problem.
I noticed that part of the rubber bands (there are 2) are sticking out on the bottom (I think that's normal) and on the sides (I am not sure if this is normal. Please tell me if this is a problem.

I believe mine did that. I know they did on the biting surface.

It sounds normal, but if you're concerned, give your ortho a call and ask.

The separators should fit like that, as the lumen of the elastic is where the teeth contact. The acutal elastic fits above the contact point, around the sides, and below the contact point towards the gums. Hope this helps!
