    Help needed! :(

    I need serious advise here!

I had been braced for a little over 2 months now and i floss and brush my teeth regularly every single day. I do not use mouth wash at a regular basis as my ortho's assistant told me that i don't have to use them unless being advised by my ortho. However, i still use Listerine Total Care (the purple colour solution) time to time when i think i ate too much acidic or sweet stuffs during the day. But just today, i spotted some white spots on my front tooth! As i had a really impacted Canine that protrudes upwards, my ortho didn't start my brace for my first 4 upper front tooth. So i couldn't think of anything that caused a white spot to be forming there! I am really afraid that it would stay permanent and i'm pretty sure it wasn't tartar since i tried really hard to scrape the white spots but to no avail.

    What should i do?!
My appointment for my next adjustment as well as normal appointment for cleaning is only on the 2nd August!

Wow I'm not sure what it could be. You could call your orthodontist office though, and ask them if they can give you five minutes to come in and take a look at it. Being a new braces patient, there are a lot of things you aren't familiar with yet and I doubt they'll have a problem putting your mind at ease. Good luck!! BTW my next adjustment is August 2 too haha.

Yeah you sound so much like me asking and calling my ortho. YES most ortho's understand that you are going to have so many questions about what is going on new with your mouth. Good luck and I am sure that it is something that they can help you to cope with.

    Denise:

Wow! thats so coincidental! hahas! and i think i gave myself too much stress about that white spot =( cos at night when i brushed my teeth thoroughly, the white spot seem to go away! or maybe it turned lighter. Though i'm not sure what caused it but i would sure be asking my ortho about it! )
It really sucks to not know what would happen when getting braced for the first time =( Like am i brushing it thoroughly? are my teeth healthy? should i avoid this and that so that it would not leave marks around my brackets? ohhhhh man =(

    MsMichelle:

Hi! hahas sometimes i thought i asked too much questions till the point the dental assistant gets fed up with me =x But lucky my ortho is a really nice person!

Your ortho's assistant is a retard to act like that toward ANYONE who is new or old to braces. They should just be nice and be willing to answer all questions. It's great that your ortho is awesome and I hope that you feel better about it... and you know that you are not alone.
