Well, for the next few days/week life is pretty much probably going to not be good for your mouth. BUT, I very very highly recommend you stay medicated. Take 600mg (3 tablets) of Motrin IB (yes it has to be Motrin haha it's the best). Be sure to take it with food, every 4-5 hours. You won't believe the difference it will make for you. The brackets are going to start to cut holes in your cheeks. Keep wax on the brackets and it will help relieve that. Also, rinsing with salt water helps too. You may lose the ability to eat solid foods for a while. Your teeth will be very sensitive. So keep lots of soft food on hand. Soup, sugar free pudding, mashed potatoes, pasta, rice...things that don't require a lot of chewing. Truly though, the only thing that can make you used to them is time itself. You will learn how to eat again with them. Talking with them is different. Staying hydrated with lots of water throughout the day really helps with that. And remember that we have ALL gone through this period, no one is exempt. Some may have more or less pain than others, but generally the first few days are the same for everyone.
We are here for you, and good luck!
