Your teeth and bite look amazing!
How many teeth are being held in place with the bonded retainer?
Good luck with keeping your teeth exactly as they are today ... outstanding!![]()
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
That's great ... but it still bothers me how your ortho is planning for the rest of your teeth to stay aligned.
We also do bonded retainers on upper and/or lower top and/or bottom six, and sometime four. This is always with removable retainers that are for night wear. All teeth move for as long as we're alive and the bonded retainers work on the teeth they're bonded to, but the rest of the teeth also need something to keep them aligned and in the same place as when the braces were removed.
Your results are outstanding and here's to your smile being like this for the rest of your life!![]()

Fantastic results, your smile is lovely.
Like Sunny, I am somewhat concerned that with only 10 teeth bonded, what is going to hold the rest of them in place?
I've got both bonded retainers on my front six in both arches and I wear removable retainers (essix type) nights only twice a week, on the advice of my ortho. I can tell you unequivocally that every time I stick the removable retainers in, I can feel an instant tightness around my molars. There is no doubt in my mind that without regular retainer wear, those teeth that are not bonded would start to drift.
I would seriously be asking your ortho what will prevent your teeth that are not bonded, from relapsing. I'd also be interested to hear his/her response.
Congrats - Your teeth are looking great!
