Better before you know it??

When I got my braces on last March, my ortho and the two assistants who did the work all said the same thing: "You'll see a big difference in your teeth in no time at all." Now it's 9 months later and there's no difference big or small--I don't know why, and they don't seem to either...Actually, scratch that, there has been ONE difference: my front teeth are more caved in and crowded now than they were before. Every visit the ortho always comments about how the teeth are looking worse. Has anyone else had similar problems with caving and/or overbite, and about how long did it take for your braces to start making an improvement?

Uglii you need to take some responsibility here and find out why your teeth aren't moving. It's not normal for this to happen and it's time you asked your ortho the important questions. I also recommend you make appointments to see at least two more ortho's to hear what they have to say.

I've not seen a patient who's teeth haven't moved, but I have a tooth that wouldn't move, due to it being 'fixed' to my jaw bone. therefore the other teeth had to be moved around it. If your teeth aren't moving, there has to be a reason ... good luck getting this sorted!
