If it's only going to be a week or two, I'd wait till you're back home and can see your ortho again. Call his office now and book an appt for when you get back.

Put the wire so that it lies either on top of or underneath the bracket.

My wire has come out of my back wisdom tooth to molar a few times when I had a thinner wire in. Don't stress!

Tweezers and a small make up mirror might help. It's just threading a needle. Gotta push the wire through the hole in the center/side of the bracket.

I think it's usually a bit more than threading a needle ports, at least mine had to have the bracket opened - which I can't do by myself, it needs an ortho tool. Best to get the ortho to do it. Or at least phone their office and get their advice about whether you should see someone on vacation or wait till you're home.

Josie, good point. I'll have to ask when I go in for my next appointment. I thought with the brackets I have, I could just push the wire back in. Since brackets have the doors on them, it's not directly grabbing. Good thing to find out though.
