    IPR and Wire Lacing

Has anyone experienced wire lacing around their brackets, which acts like a power chain (I also have an elastic power chain on top of the metal powerchain lacing), with IPR (Interproximal reduction - filing of your teeth)? I had this done and I'm hoping it will work to close the tiny gap I have. I don't really feel any pain so I'm not sure if it's working or not.

Jules I'm not sure about the type of wire lacing you're referring to, due to it having a powerchain on top of it?

I use wire lacing to 'hold' teeth where they are, either because I don't want them to move, or they're where they need to be. After IPR I use powerchains or power thread to close the gap.

Maybe your ortho isn't working the wire lacing to keep some gaps as they are and the powerchains to close others.

Sorry I can't help. Talk to your ortho and get an accurate explanation.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

    Hi Sunny!

Thanks for your response! I had a tiny gap at the center bottom and she used the wires to pull the teeth together around the archwire and used the elastic powerchain on top of that wire lacing. Oddly, the gap closed today and hoping it will stay that way .

I just had IPR today on two of my top teeth and got a power chain.
