Hi and welcome Turkiq!
If the archwire is too long it should be snipped so that it doesn't poke your mouth and need wax put on it all the time until your next appointment ... which will usually be between 8 and 16 weeks away. Each time your archwire is trimmed, it will take longer for it to become pokey, that is if it becomes pokey. The archwire will only become pokey if your teeth need less wire due to the alignment closing up and/or the teeth being pulled back.
If your ortho knows that the archwire may become pokey before your next appointment, the end of the archwire can be bent so that it goes behind your last molar. This means that as it moves out, there will be little to no pokeyness.
Your current archwire will be the hardest working one ... the most flexible archwire that does the work to get your teeth moving and aligning. If you mean that your archwire is coming out of the tube on the back bracket, this may be due to the archwire moving in that arch and then coming out of that side. It shouldn't be too short due to the trimming, but if it slips round, then it can come out and due to the flexibility this is more possible. If this is what happened, you'd be best to contact your ortho and seek advice, as there are small blocks that can be attached to the archwire to prevent it from sliding around.
Good luck with your treatment!
