Wire poking side of mouth

Hey Guys, I've had my braces for 3 days now (the pain is the worst!) and I had molar brackets (?) instead of molar bands put in...
and on the first day the end of the wire was bended so it wouldn't poke but over the past 2 days it has 'unraveled' and is constantly poking into the side of my mouth and is extremely annoying because I already have to put up with other pain...

Before I make a call to my ortho, is there any way to stop or fix this? besides wax. My cousin told me to cut it but wouldn't that make it worse?

Hi Raine, I wounldn't cut it, thats defiantly something I would get your ortho to do. Use the wax as much as you can that should help you. I had a wire poke, I actually left if for about 3 weeks because I was away on vacation man did that hurt. My ortho told me that next time, if I have this issue and can't make it in to take some tweezers to grip just the wire and you can actually move the wire back and forth through the brackets. If you do that be sure not to pull to far as to take it out the back bracket or have it poke the other side of you mouth. But please call your Ortho and have them tell you what to do, their advice will be way more acurate then mine. and don't worry the pain goes away and you have probably heard this a million times but it's so worth it in the end.

I would have them fix it. I had that and I lived with it with a giant sore/hole in the back of my mouth.. I thought it was just the bracket rubbing, but it was actually the wire poking. I should have known since it kept sticking to my cheek. Anyways, once it's fixed.. it'll feel so much better!
