    Metal Brace span

This is my 1st thread. So uhm yeah, still getting used to this forum website. Very resourceful and assuring to know that many are going through the many tough cuts and discomfort that I am going through

Anyway, I have teeth that are mildly crooked between my canines on both rows and just super tiny gaps that forms a mild openbite, probably caused by my front teeth. My upper right canine unfortunately situates on my gum.
I'm wondering how long it must take for me to get off my braces? Anyone roughly knows? I have prom in 2 years and confirmation in 1year time! Dang..

Looks weird >.< I couldn't open my mouth properly as my lip on one side was over stretched and the wound was raw. But there it seems, it's a rough appearance of my teeth's condition

i just got braces this week... no one can tell you how long they think it will last. it depends on how well it goes (no problems etc). They should have given you an estimate. Mostly, I have seen 2 years.

The Crime: Protruding upper canine, upper and lower crowding.
    Sentence: 2 years
    Fine: $4,100
First day with brackets: 12/05/2011. 4 Extractions: 12/12/11. 1st Adjustment: 01/04/12. 2nd Adjustment: 2/15/12 Pulling the canine down. 3rd Adjustment 3/28/12 (canine's in the wire, and pulled into position!). 4th adjustment: 5/16/2012 (closing the gaps!)

I have seen an average of 2 years also. But I have also seen people who have had an estimate of 2+ years get their braces off sooner because of their strict dedication to appliance/elastic wear. Good luck! You'll be done before you know it.
