    Tongue?

Hi, I've been very conscious about the placing of my tongue when I'm swallowing/drinking. It basically sits where the palate and teeth meet, so my tongue is both touching the palate and part of the back of the top teeth. I've done it like this for as long as I can remember. Is this normal? Should I be practicing to have it placed slightly further back or am I just worrying over nothing?

    Thanks!

Tongue position on swallowing should be at the anterior part of the palate near the gum line of the inside of the front top teeth. If your tongue pushes against the front teeth too much, it can push them forward in the long term.

my tongue pushes my front teeth. I have noticed this since wearing braces because I wake up and my front teeth are vry sore after resting. How do I stop this?

Thanks, Jason. I've already been working on placing it slightly further back.

I have been pushing my front teeth forward - whole life I have been sleeping with the tongue between the teeth. The result is: 1. Upper front teeth pushed forward. 2. They are also pressed up in the jew and I have open bite.
When I was 21 years I payed attention to my teeth and found the reason why they look so. So I deliberately changed the position of my tongue and put it down instead. 15 years it has been pushing forward my lower teeth and the result is (not so bad as the first time) distance between lower teeth which I am not sure but I think it was much less before. It is possible intentionally to change possition - you must think in the beginning but then it becomes a habit
