Ceramic Braces on Top and Bottom teeth

I know othos don't like to put ceramic braces on your bottom teeth cause they say they are so strong they can wear your teeth down. But has anyone out there with ceramic braces on their top and bottom teeth had any bad experience with having them on both? I am getting the Radiance Clear braces this Thurday. My orthi said he would put them on the top and bottom for me but that he soesn't recommend it. I'd just like to hear about someone's personal experience with this situation.

I have them on both... but I have only had them just over a month, so I can't really tell ya... I would think it's based on each individual. My upper teeth don't touch my lower brackets, so that is probably why he allowed them both to be ceramic.

Did your orthodontist have any reservations about putting them on the top and bottom? Do you have the radiance brackets?

I'm an orthodontist and don't put them on the bottom or 2nd premolars. 1.) They wear away your opposing teeth. 2.) The lowers are narrower, making the interbracket distance (bracket to bracket) much smaller. The teeth move much slower when this occurs. 3. The tie wings are harder to put on. Nobody sees the lowers when you speak.

I only have the clear brackets in the front. Metal in the back (molars). I am not sure what radiance is... My orthodontist actually surprised me when I went for the bracketing. I thought I was only getting them on top.

I think I did get the radiance brackets. Very sharp corners? Almost like a lego? lol

Haha! Thanks for the insight. I'm always interested in what patients think before I buy a product. The sales reps tell me they are "very comfortable".
