    Burning Gums

I have two small chips on the lower edge of my top two front teeth. These teeth had been repaired with a small amt of composite bonding on the chipped area only. This repair lasted many years. This past fall, they bonded area broke, and on vacation I had the repair done by a local dentist recommended to me there. The repair seemed to be taking a much longer time than I had remembered. When finished, and I looked in the hand mirror, my teeth looked large and strange. It was only after leaving the office that I realized this dentist had covered the entire surface of both teeth with the bondng. In addition, I had extreme burning around the gumline above the two top teeth. I have had my dentist at home examine the teeth. At first, he thought they might have left some of the etching fluid under the gum. He cleaned that area out. When I continued to have symptoms, he attempted to drill away some of the bonding around the gum area. Getting no relief, I went to see an oral surgeon last week. He suggested my seeing a cosmetic specialist, or someone familiar with materials. Do I possibly have an allergy to the composite? I have heard this is possible, and that sometimes there is leakage. The large vein that runs between the top two teeth is where most of the soreness and redness is. Also, in the back of this area, the triangle behind the two teeth is very red. Now this month, strangely, my joints are all aching. I am not an alarmist or hypochondriach. I have no other health issues. But, now I am scared! Can I have this removed, and who should do it? A materials specialist? Thank you.

I suggest finding out exactly what was put on your teeth from the dentist you got the operation from. And allow him/her to communicate with your current dentist to figure out the best decision on what to do.

Get it removed, i sure wouldnt want my teeth to look longer.

    Just my 2cents.

I would not let it go any longer as if you joints are aching it almost sounds like you might have an infection? I would definantly try and figure it out with the dentists but if you can't then maybe it is time to consult your regular DR and see what they think.
