I am lost. You jumped from tightening to "the filling". Are you talking about a cavity filling?
Hi Everyone,
I got my braces put on in October last year and have already noticed a difference in the position of my teeth
I have ceramic braces on both upper and lower but i don't need to get my wire tightened? I just go every 4 weeks to have a new wire fitted and the bands around the braces changed (as they discolour quickly) Anyone else not need their braces tightened?
Okay the question i wanted to ask is if the filing is 'good' for your teeth and is it worth it (would you recommend having it done)? Would this be included in the price (i paid £4.9k)
I still have 18 months to go and in about 10 months will need lower jaw surgery.
My ortho is very good so i will speak to him about it but would like to know if anyone else has had tooth filing?
Thanks

The Crime: Protruding upper canine, upper and lower crowding.
Sentence: 2 years
Fine: $4,100
First day with brackets: 12/05/2011. 4 Extractions: 12/12/11. 1st Adjustment: 01/04/12. 2nd Adjustment: 2/15/12 Pulling the canine down. 3rd Adjustment 3/28/12 (canine's in the wire, and pulled into position!). 4th adjustment: 5/16/2012 (closing the gaps!)
I don't think they still do the traditional "tightening" of braces. I believe the wire is just changed out when it is warranted.
I am still new to the braces game, but I would say if the filing is done correctly, it should be perfectly safe for your teeth. If your teeth have been crooked for very long, you will have uneven wear in certain places. The filing will help in getting your teeth to fit together as they should once they are aligned.
If I am incorrect in any of my assumptions, please feel free to correct me, to those members on here who have experienced the filing firsthand.
Good luck with your braces treatment.
