An 'Educated' Guess

Hi,
I'm new here and am heading off to the orthodontist again next week to get a definate conclusion on whether or not I need braces. The main concern was that I had a major underbite, with my bottom teeth starting to bite into the gums behind my front teeth. In addition, there are gaps between most of my teeth (around 1-3 mm each). I seem to have very small teeth, except for my two front top ones and my upper incisors (when I bite just from teeth together I leave a gap of around 5 mm+ between back teeth). Does anyone here have an idea of whether or not I might need braces to correct these problems?

From what you are talking about with your bottom teeth hitting your gums behind your upper teeth, that is called an overbite, not underbite. I have an overbite and I will be in braces for about 2 years (only a few more months for me!). I would get a few consultations with orthos and see what they think.

Oh sorry. I (sort of obviously) don't know much and am wondering what to expect? I went in last year, but teeth needed to be pulled before anything could be considered. Can anyone tell me what to expect at a consultation and what to expect should I need braces?
