I got my 3M Clarity ceramic braces today! (With hi-res pics)

Hey everyone, I just got my braces today!

The ortho said I'll only have them for 6 months, im getting the lower braces next Wednesday.

I'm not sure if they were the self-ligating though cause I dont see any ligs, im gonna ask him this next week.

My teeth hurt so much right now!

They look great! 6 months...you're lucky! I have the same braces and they aren't self ligating. He probably put clear ligs on so you can't see them but be careful of what you eat and drink because they will stain and turn an awful shade of yellow pretty quick. If you look at the pictures on my profile you'll see what I'm talking about. My pain went away in 3 days. Good luck!

Those are self ligating brackets. @shinshan904 is right, be careful what you eat because those things will stain fast! Stay away from mustard & curry most of all, and drink soda through a straw. there are other foods you should stay away from (or be more careful with) but I don't feel like typing them all out. You can find several lists on here.

Hello everyone!

It's been 4 months since I got my braces. The treatment was supposed to take 6 months but my ortho added 2 extra months so I still got 4 months to go!

This is how my teeth look right now (I just had breakfast and I havent brushed yet, sorry)

There is a small chip on my left front tooth. Do you guys think this is easy to fix?

Just a comment, i've smoked every single day since I got them and my teeth havent gotten extremely yellow. I do get my ligs changed every 3 weeks and they are pretty yellow at the end of the 3rd week but nothing too major. Just as a heads up for anyone that smokes and wants to get clear braces

AH, thanks for reminding me! I needed to update that in my blog I just posted! I have a lower central Incisor that has two substantial chips in it. My ortho said he would bond them for me when I was all done. I'm sure you can ask for that.

If you're planning on having any bonding done when braces are removed, to be sure that your teeth are as white as you're gonna want them, before you get the bonding done - bonding doesn't lighten with whitening, so whatever colour the bonding, you're committed to that colour...
