You may need to wear rubber bands in the future which will go around those hooks.

It isn't common to have hooks on the incisor teeth. Generally they are on the canines, premolars, and molars. As mentioned above, they may be required for using elastics in the future. As your teeth begin to line up, the hook will be less of an issue against your lips, since they will become less obtrusive. Good luck!

So that's what those are. Kind of unlikely I will be using elastics since I only have braces on the lowers, ya? Why subject me to the discomfort of having them when they serve no useful purpose?

    Like mentioned above,
I have them on my braces for elastics I am wearing in a triangle configuration
I have not known anyone who has had elastics go to their incisors (lucky me...)

Now that I think about it, I can't say I have ever seen anyone with hooks on their Incisors. Do you have a photo? Are you sure you're naming the correct teeth? Did you go to an orthodontist or a dentist?

    Hmm

I have seen people who have had to had rubber bands go around their incisors. Every case is different. Those hooks are probably there for a reason, you should ask your ortho about it.
