What's our obsession with white teeth! What's so bad about they being yellow! The white stuff is just the enamel, the outer layering of our teeth. And it withers away in time. Smoking, drinking too much coffee, consuming acidic foods help speed up that process.
Whitening products don't make your teeth white. They just remove the stain that covering the enamel. But you need to have enough tooth enamel for it to work!!
Hey perfectsmile, Didn't you say you brush 3 times a week! Do you know what is the number one reason for tooth enamel to worn out! Yeah, u guessed it - over brushing. Every time you brush, you are just scrubbing away the surface..
I had always been taught that brushing 3 times a day is the only way to keep you teeth healthy. Are you telling me that I am actually damaging my teeth?
My mom has a tip for whitening for teeth she brushes her teeth with salt. But I think people who have their braces on shouldn't follow this method. The important thing is wash your mouth after every meal.
Ofcourse, brushing keeps your teeth healthy, but too much of anything can be bad. I didnt mean to make you worry, you just reminded me of my friend, he was obsessed with brushing...years down the line - his tooth enamel got worn off - his teeth would get more yellow - he took this as sign of not brushing properly - so he brushed more!!Originally Posted by perfectsmile
Just keep it clean, no need to brush 3 times a day...Be gentle to your teeth. It's not some enemy, u know :P
I have always been taught to brush in the morning, after dinner, and before I went to bed. Now that I am older I brush in the morning and before I go to bed. I use the whiting that you put on before you go to bed. I think it works, however it does take longer that the kits. Just my opinion though.
There are several whitening products that are designed for home use. Most of them contain carbamide peroxide as the whitening agent. Some can be purchased over the counter but check with your dentist. Not every product has been approved by the American Dental Association.
that one post says 3 times a week! Would hate to live with that person. You can get a softhead brush and won't damage your teeth. I brush mine 2 times a day, but more if i eat sweets or sticky stuff.
