Glue On Teeth From Removed Braces

When braces are removed from the teeth, the glue and cement will remain on the teeth until the orthodontist removes it.  Using a sander type instrument, the glue/cement is worked off the tooth to where it no longer remains.

There is usually no mark of the glue or cement left on the teeth and the orthodontist will most likely recommend you go to your dentist as soon as possible for a good cleaning.

When braces are applied, occasionally the glue may drip in areas of the tooth that it should not be.  In these cases, the assistants need to polish it off to avoid you feeling it or being uncomfortable.

If the glue gets between your teeth, than the orthodontist or assistant will you a too to scrap it off and it does not hurt at all.

Getting your braces off is exciting and the most important thing to remember is to wear your retainers!
