Kissing With Dental Braces

We all know that Hollywood has found the humor in romance and braces.  Several movies and books have featured teenagers stuck together after their braces get entangled with one another.  While this certainly can happen, it is very unlikely.

A gentle kiss from your partner usually will not bring the brackets close enough to where a rubber band, bracket, or power chain can latch on to the others.  In some instances the brackets have interlocked, but again this is a rare situation.

In many cases though, braces can be too rough for your partner to handle.  You may accident cut your partner with the bracket.  So it is best to be careful when kissing with braces and remember they will be coming off soon enough.

If your partner is feeling the pain from your braces, we recommend you put wax over your brackets before kissing.  This will act to smooth all the rough edges of the braces and make your braces very gentle on your partner when kissing.
