Hi justjenn, I saw you replied to my thread 'Clicking Jaw before getting braces?'
"Unfortunately, mine won't go ahead until jaw surgery happens." I thought you were already in braces? can I ask what wont go ahead until jaw surgery happens?

    Sorry to be a pest!

Just over 12 hrs. till D-Day!

by justjenn on 11-06-2011 at 10:27 PM
Yep, at 10:20 CST I have an appointment to get my braces off, permanent retainer put in, and hopefully will have my removable essix retainers by the end of the day. I also have a follow up with my surgeon to see my post braces jaw line (loving it btw), and then a cleaning. I'm hoping I don't have any cavities, though I'm not optimistic. If I do have any, I'm hoping dentist will go ahead and fix them tomorrow.

All in all, I'm excited about the whole day. I love my drs. Of course I've

Pain, pain, pain

by justjenn on 10-27-2011 at 11:09 AM
That's what I felt around 2:30AM this morning. I woke up again at 5:30 still hurting. My jaw has been hurting at the "break site" and I thought maybe my jaw was messed up. I also thought maybe it was latest rubber band configuration. I called the surgeon since their office opened first, and they thought it was my braces. So I called the ortho. He told me to take out my rubber bands for 2-3 days and see if that helps. (I had 4 of them.) He also said to limit my talking and jaw movement

Final Stages

It's Official

I went to the ortho this past Wed. I had my "de band check" and it went great! They had to take off the power chains and take the lower arch wire out. Then they made a mold for my permanent retainer. Putting the wire back in was horrible. I also decided that since it was my last few weeks of braces, that I wouldn't do clear or silver power chains this time. I opted for lavender on top and kelly green on bottom. I also now have to wear 4 rubber bands till my debracing date. I don't like

I have rubber bands and I swallowed 2 of them yesterday. Then a few hours after I swallowed the 2nd one, I started feeling bad and having intestinal cramps. Can swallowing rubber bands do this? I'm worried but not worried.

Good news is that in 5 weeks (*crosses fingers*) I won't have to worry about braces anymore.

Ok, my rant for the day.

The New End

by justjenn on 09-26-2011 at 08:25 PM
I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I went in to see the ortho for my scheduled check. I got to keep one of my rubber band configuarations and then got a new one on the other side. I told him that when it got time to schedule for my molds date, that I needed to go ahead and schedule my debracing date at the same time due to work. He asked me if I'm ready to get them off and I told him that I was but only if he was happy with my teeth. He's more than happy right now and doesn't forsee any
