Periodontist and Dentist Advise Against Sonicare Electric Toothbrush

We have been asking several dental professionals on the best electric toothbrush available to users.  The Sonicare gets quite a bit of hype as being one of the best, but is it really?  Periodontist are claiming that this toothbrush is way too harsh especially for people who are already showing bone loss and receding gum lines.  By brushing extremely it is only worsening people’s conditions and opening up new conditions such as tooth sensitivity.

The particular dentist we interviewed recommended Oral B, with it round and circular motion head.  We also like this toothbrush however; we still feel the Rota Dent electric toothbrush is the best on the market for braces wearers and those with the naked tooth.  It bristles are extremely soft and also works in a circulating motion which has been recommended by top dentist and science articles.

If you are looking to obtain optimal teeth health, you are going to have to dish out the money for it.  All these leading brand electric toothbrushes carry a rather fair price tag, however some start at one hundred dollars.

In any situation you if you are reporting bone loss worsening from over brushing, you need to see your dentist right away and switch to a soft toothbrush.  If you are using an electric such as Sonicare, be warned than many patients are reporting conditions that appear from over brushing such as tooth sensitivity to hot and cold water.  Gum recession can cause many conditions that can be avoided simply by using a soft toothbrush and going easy on your teeth on gum lines.
