Teeth Sanding, Reshaping, Contouring |
Even after getting braces off often clients will look into cosmetic dentistry to better perfect their smile. In cases where teeth appear to be too long, oddly shaped (such as rounded at the bottoms), or any thing out of the norm, tooth contouring can be utilized. While the most common reason for teeth sanding is usually when the canines are too long or pointy, there are numerous other reasons to look into cosmetic dentistry. In instances where the client needs sanding, the dentist will take x-rays to determine where the pulp of the tooth is. These will aide in how far the dentist can go down and if the procedure is a good idea or not. The dentist will usually mark your tooth at where you and the dentist agree the tooth should be sanded down to. In practice it is usually best to not go right to where the exact location is, but to work in small increments. Tooth contouring can also be used to correct teeth grinding, chewing, and bite issues. In instances of cosmetic dentistry we highly recommend you seek the advice of several professionals before choosing one. |
