    Wink IBRACES...Thinking about it

Hi everyone- So ive gone to 3 different ortho consultations to get some quotes and i just found a provider that does the Ibraces. My only issue is that he quoted me $9,000 for about 14 months...is this normal???!! I live in michigan i was just wondering how much everyone was paying for these braces. I understand it depends on the situation and treatment but i just dont want to be ripped off. Any insight would be great.

Also, how are? has anyone had any major issues?

    Thanks so much! :D

I don't know whether it's too late to answer this question for you, but my orthodontist estimated my treatment would take 24 months and she quoted me $8,000. I live in South Carolina.

For what it's worth, though (and you may have already decided), it's the best decision I've ever made. I'd pay $9,000 for 14 months in a heartbeat. Seriously life changing.

I am in Canada and paid 10,000 for 30 months.
I think that the braces cost around that much and I agree with ahe123 that it is worth it. Especially because with incognito the changes happen a lot faster than you would expect.

First of all the price seems kinda high. If the dentist who provides this service is a specialist normally they would charge more compared to a GP. For Michigan $9K is really high.
These braces are pretty new and not all ortho specialists work with them. Despite the experience of the dentist if the product is new, they can not predict how effective they will be for certain patients.
I do not believe that ibraces by 3M have any superior advantages compared to traditional bracket/braces.
Also consider the fact that it is not very comfortable for anyone to have all brackets lingually considering the fact that your tongue constantly moves.

I would go with regular brackets. If you are concerned cosmetically then chose ceramic 3M brackets. If you don't smoke or drink a lot of coffee and if you maintain regular hygiene appointments you will be fine because brackets are transparent and not noticeable.

If you are not good at oral hygiene then chose removable invisalign. Depends on your case.

I have had traditional braces previously and I now have incognito - absolutely recommend incognito over the traditional
Much more comfortable with the application. It does take a little getting used to with your tongue but after only 1.5 weeks with them on I am handling them fine. My speech is about 90% of what it was but I know it will be back to normal over the next week or so.

I'm in Australia and a paying just over $10K but it is worth it (equivalent to 10K in US now anyway). Incognito has an advantage over traditional braces as you typically can't see them under normal circumstances. You get cheek and lip ulcers from the traditional braces and invisalign does not suit a lot of cases for straightening teeth as they have limited capabilities. And it would not be nice having to essentially wear a retainer 24/7....

    Hi,

Are you sure you want iBraces? Invisalign could be cheaper (around $6000) depending on whether or not you are a candidate (what specific issue you have with your teeth).
Alternately, there are other lingual brace systems that might be cheaper than iBraces, since iBraces are the completely customized lingual braces system.
