What Color Rubber Bands For My Braces?

Orthodontist use rubber bands in a number of ways to provide treatment with orthodontic braces.  In most case bands are applied over each bracket to provide tightening.

Your orthodontist usually will have all different colors for you to choose from.  Many children and teens like to use their school colors, favorite team, etc.  However adults usually prefer to go with the most unnoticeable colors such as grey and even clear.

For those that are receiving treatment for bite correction such as an overbite, underbite, or cross bite, rubber bands are used to go from the upper to the lower jaw and vice versa.  These rubber bands are usually only available in a standard color, however some orthodontist accommodate their clients with several colors.
